'Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally' -Jon Kabat Zinn-
You might ask, to what do I need to pay attention?
The answer is to anything, but especially to those aspects of life that we most take for granted or ignore.
Being mindful in daily life means, observing your thoughts, emotions and body sensations. Experiencing how you are at this present moment. In this article I'm describing my own journey of Mindfulness and how I became a MBSR teacher.
Mindfulness has been a buzzword over the last couple of years, but what does it really mean? And more importantly, how could mindfulness impact your life?
I'm organising workshops, courses and retreats for everyone who seeks to improve quality of life, especially if you would like to understand better how to deal with stress, anxiety and difficult emotions. You will become more aware of the mind’s tendency to wander off and it's worrying about the past and the future. I will explain more about what mindfulness is and the benefits of mindfulness. Other possible topics are 'how to control stress', 'managing attention' and 'how to practice mindfulness'. The next workshop 'Introduction to Mindfulness' will be in February.
It is also possible to provide a workshop, a training or a retreat (English or Dutch spoken) for a private group. This will be customised to the needs of the (individual) wishes of the group after an intake session.
